I got the Microvania © Robo to help me around the workshop. When I encountered a bug, it was easy! I just took a picture, posted on the official Keydrop Microvania © Itch.io page to let them know! Then all I needed to do was pause using enter and return to the map screen! Thanks Keydrop!

At first I was confused - my little Robo seemed to lose it's ability modules when I moved between sectors. Then I realised that was part of the fun - every time I go from one sector to the next I need to hunt around for the official Microvania © ability extension disk in that sector. What joy! Thanks Keydrop.

Amazing how confident they are in the durability of these robots - astounding to think that they could still be waking up and repairing things long after humanity is gone!

solid, loved the art style and it felt good to play. I like the overall tone as well. Personally, I really wanted there to be a map for the levels. I would get lost for huge periods of time and never felt "in control" of my exploration.
Great game, really enjoyed once the music kicked in
Hey, I'm sorry we're only replying to this now! Thanks so much for playing through the entire thing and doing a video of it, this is actually really useful for us to understand how people are engaging with this.
We're releasing a new game tonight, our first foray into 3D, so keep an eye out if you want to try our next prototype!
Here it is:

Enjoy!
Fun little game! Less of an experiment in any one mechanic, and more of an experiment in shaping the world design of a metroidvania into little bite-sized levels. Good promise!
fun fact: I was on the edge of a water surface, so character started to swim.I then pressed the freeze button, so I got oushed out and stuff froze.
nontheless I was and am still in the swimming animation, so I currently swim around the whole level.
only downright is that I can no longer use the freeze button (game just doesnt react to it, probably thinking I am in deep water and therefor shouldn't be allowed to basically freeze myself), so all water blocks are perma frozen.
which makes reaching the actual exit impossible.
but fun thing nonetheless :-)
Haha, hope you had a fun tour around the level floating in air! Thanks for letting us know about the bug, we'll look into it.
In the meantime, if you come across something like that that prevents your progress you can press enter to pause and then quit to the world map.
This is a lot of fun! About the only thing I might suggest is to add something to indicate that E works for interacting with switches, at least on the first one. I might just be a bit dumb, but it didn't occur to me to try that and I was a bit confused for a moment. It also may be a good idea to add some signposting in the last world that there's a second exit. It's really easy to get lost and end up right back where you started and assume that's it for that one.
I hope you'll consider adding a downloadable version of the game, too. I'd love to be able to play offline!
Hey thanks a mil for playing! That's a great suggestion, so good in fact, that I just added it:
Was already there for the teleporters so thankfully just a copy/paste job.
I think for the signposting - if we'd return to this project I think we'd have a fork early on in a short level to teach the player how to recognise that levels can have multiple exits.
As for the downloadable keep your eyes peeled for post-jam QOL update!
Glad to hear you liked my suggestion! Is the post-jam version still going to be a thing or have you moved on?
Hey, sorry for taking so long to get back to you! We definitely want to return to this project at some point. Right now though, we're doing some rapid prototyping and then deciding which of the games we like the most to scale up - it might be Microvania, we'll have to see! We're releasing our second prototype tonight (it's our first foray into 3D so that's exciting) so keep an eye out!
Here's that other project I mentioned:

Enjoy!
I have exited all 5 worlds and appear to have collected upgrades in each world. Any idea what I am missing?
Everything was really enjoyable with perhaps the exception of a few really tricky pieces in the last world but it wasn't frustrating enough to make me want to stop.
Only bug I encountered was I was able to swim outside of water. I think I just managed to freeze/unfreeze water at the right time. The effect lasted between rooms but went away after a respawn.
Some solid puzzles and everything looked great.
Thanks for developing!
There's an ending to be found in the final world now that you've got all the abilities! There are 3 different routes to it using the last ability you collect there so you should be able to find it soon with a bit of exploration.
Good to know about that bug - haven't encountered it but might try to take a look at it before the update window closes tonight.
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for that. Found the ending :)
are there only 4 levels ? if so i needs an ending but great game !
only thing i didnt like so much was the keyboard layout, im used to arrow keys zx space but i coped...
think this is worth building on, everthing works and looks great
job well done
Thanks for playing! As for the ending, you mighta missed something - it's a metroidvania after all, so you might need to backtrack!
